HEATHROW T2 OPERATIONAL READINESS

Overview

Heathrow Airport was due to open its new Terminal 2 in June 2014. In order to achieve a smooth opening on day 1, Heathrow engaged us for its Operational Readiness and Testing programme. Heathrow needed to resource this programme quickly with competent interim staff that could deliver a gruelling terminal testing programme.

Solution

• 13 interim staff: we provided 13 of our associates to the T2 Operational Readiness Program all with high level process and people skills.

• FF&E: our staff designed and ran the entire logistics process to deliver 33,000 items of fixtures, fittings & equipment to the terminal.

• Airbridge testing: our staff defined a new approach to air-bridge calibration & testing which has now become the UK standard for such trials.

​Outcome

• A successful opening was achieved with no adverse press coverage.

• We enabled the safe and successful delivery of 190 proving trials with over 14 000 trial participants.​

• We delivered 65 airside proving trials including live aircraft tests.

• We delivered a seamless logistics function providing 33,000 items to the terminal.
